28, 2022, to December 11, 2022, the Benton County SWCD partnered with Indiana Humanities, The Smithsonian Institution, and the Otterbein Library to host the Smithsonian Water/Ways Exhibit. The exhibit highlighted the importance of water and how we are all connected in some way to the water. The film explained the importance of the Big Pine Creek Watershed, told the story of its history, and showed the impact of the conservation efforts implemented by the farmers and landowners that live within the watershed. The new staff was able to watch the “Land-Values” film, speak with a local farmer, and do some macroinvertebrate sampling in the creek.
